Seventh graders had an amazing day exploring and learning! 🌿📚
We started our adventure at the Dalles Discovery Center, where students dove into hands-on exhibits and uncovered the rich natural and cultural history of the region. Then it was off to the Dalles Mountain Ranch for a scenic hike filled with fresh air, wildflowers, and incredible views.
It was a day full of curiosity, exploration, and unforgettable memories! 💚

The WSVSD maintenance crew took time to demonstrate basic auto care to Ms. Smith's independent living class yesterday. We learned about checking tire pressure, oil levels, fuses, wiper fluid, jump starting a car, changing tires, and air filters. Thanks Taylor & Eddie!

Hands-on learning at its best! Ms. Smith’s 8th grade science students designed and built collision-safe cars using the engineering design process—all within strict constraints. Yesterday’s sunny testing session was a success, and the results were impressive! 🚗🥚☀️

Yesterday our 8th grade ELA classes had an amazing experience at the White Salmon Courthouse!
Students had the chance to step inside a real courtroom, ask thoughtful questions, and learn firsthand how our justice system works. A highlight of the visit was getting to act out a scene from Monster—the novel they’re currently reading—right in an authentic courtroom setting.
Huge thanks to the courthouse staff for welcoming our students and helping bring literature to life! 📚⚖️
